Bodyboarding event to take place in Hawaiian beach

The United States Bodyboarding Association (USBA) is scheduled to host its sixth annual Sandy Beach Pro competition next week at Oahu, Hawaii.

The event, which takes place from July 3 to 5, has served as a qualifying event for the upcoming The Bodyglove USBA Grand Slam Tour, a national tour event that takes place later this year.

Popular bodyboarding pros are expected to attend this competition, including those from other countries. Mike Stewart, the ten-time Pipeline and world champion, is expected to participate and give everyone a run for their money.

Other popular names in the world of bodyboarding such as Alister Tayler, Jeff Hubbard, Jacob Romero, Eugene Teixeira and Bud Miyamoto have signed up for the Hawaiian event.

Despite the global economic crisis, this bodyboarding event got major support from new and loyal sponsors.

Here’s the schedule as provided by the organizers:

July 3: USBA Meet and Greet at Dave and Busters, Honolulu
July 4: Day 1 of competitions
July 5: Finals for Drop Knee Pro, Women’s and Men’s bodyboarding events.

The competition is expected to end at around 4:30 in the afternoon. Closing ceremonies will start at eight in the evening.
