Kite surfing is slowly gaining popularity worldwide and one man will be attempting to set a kite surfing record for the first time from an England island later this year.
The man, Andy Ward, is set to kite surf from the Channel Islands and land in the coast of England in September this year. The place of launch will be from Alderney. Ward will then kite surf through the popular channel all the way to Poole, Dorset where he lives.
This undertaking is going to be made by Ward for a good cause. The proceeds will go to the Special Boat Service (SBS) Association, an organization that supports the families and members of the SBS.
According to reports, Ward is targeting to cover about seventy nautical miles in a trip that could last up to eight hours. Ward is an experienced kite surfer who’s been into the sport for the past three years. He’s married with three kids.
Experts said that in order for this undertaking to successfully proceed, Ward needs force five winds in order to overcome the nature’s obstacles such as daylight, tides and even air. Ward will be monitored by land and water-based team to ensure his safety.

Kitesurfing is an extreme water sport where the rider rides a surfboard while he or she is surfing on the water. It is extremely dangerous because a strong gust of wind could pull a surfer up and into the face of an oncoming wave. The parachute lines also add to the sports ‘extreme’ reputation.
My name is Josh and I've been crazy about water since I was little as my dad was the most enthusiastic watersports
fan I know. I started surfing when I was 6 and have since been doing kitesurfing, sailing and water skiing. I love
other water sports as well and this blog is dedicated to that.
