American water ski professional Regina Jacquess has another award to add in her long list of achievements after she was declared the winner of the 2009 Jack Kelly Fair Play Award. The said award was named after Jack Kelly, a late US Olympic Committee President and had been an Olympic medalist.

The aforementioned award is bestowed to individuals (official, coach or athlete) that showed fair play and sportsmanship.

In a statement, Jacquess said that she’s honored to have been declared as the winner. She added that she’d always try to live by the committee’s description of fair play. She stressed that she will continue upholding the spirit of competition, the same thing that Jack Kelly imposed when he was still an athlete then a USOC official.

Jaquess has amassed awards in water skiing for the past decade. She has won titles in Pan American Games and World Championships.

My name is Josh and I've been crazy about water since I was little as my dad was the most enthusiastic watersports fan I know. I started surfing when I was 6 and have since been doing kitesurfing, sailing and water skiing. I love other water sports as well and this blog is dedicated to that.
