White-water rafting or rafting can be referred to as one of the challenging activities wherein a raft is used for navigating the bodies of water. It’s generally done on diverse degrees of the rough water or white-water, so as to create the excitement and thrill for raft passengers. This activity’s development in the form of one of the leisure sports has been gaining popularity since mid-1970s.

Originally, rafts were the easiest form of transportation through water. They were made out of numerous logs, reeds, or planks that used to be fastened together then. Raft of this type comprises of a multi-layered vinyl or rubberized, durable fabrics with various independent chambers of air. Length of this raft varies between 11 ft, or 3.5 m and 20 ft, or 6 m, with the width ranging between 6 ft, or 1.8 m and 8 ft, or 2.5 m. Pack raft is generally exception to the size rule mentioned above, as it’s designed in the form of portable one-person raft. The size might be as follows: Length: 1.5 m, weight: 4 lbs.
